One cannot imagine Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations in Maharashtra without the Ukadiche Modak. Ukadiche Modak is the traditional steamed modak offered to Lord Ganesh when we welcome him. Classically the Ukadiche Modak is made with rice flour and stuffed with a filling of coconut and jaggery called puran. Keeping traditions intact, our version of the Ukadiche Modak has the same filling with a slight reimagined touch of poppy and sesame seeds for crunch. To break up the sweetness, our Ukadiche Modaks are served with a spiced black jaggery sauce!
