Rang Barse, Mithai Barse With Our Holi Special Thandai Sweets, Treats And More!

While last year our Holi Collection was inspired by the myriad of colours associated with Holi, this year we wanted to create a collection inspired by all the flavours of Holi like Thandai and Kesar! Our halwais have prepared treats that will instantly take you to the streets of Benaras with smells of fresh mithai in the air! From our colourful packaging to the sweet treats themselves, we will make sure rang barse, mithai barse! 

Holi can only be complete with a plate of Gujiyas! Eaten during this time of year, Gujiyas are fried sweet dumplings made with semolina and filled with khoya and nuts. Our halwais decided to add a nutty twist to it. Our Holi sweet box of Nutty Gujiyas are filled with jaggery, coconut, pista, cashew, chironji and cardamom. These gujiyas are fried in ghee and coated with sugar. Each bite will make your heart burst with colour! Next up is our Rangeela Boondi Chikki. The Chikki is easily our favourite treat to prepare in the Bombay Sweet Shop kitchen because there is just so much ground for experimentation! Just in time for Holi - our mithai magicians decided that a new chikki had to be born and of course, it had to be drenched in the spirit of Holi. Inspired by the crunchy boondi chikki and the chatpata namkeen boondi - this chikki is made by melting jaggery and cooking it with crunchy boondi, hazelnuts and almonds. Once the mixture comes together - the chikki is drizzled with the namkeen boondi masala of jal jeera and chaat masala, cut, sealed and packed. Want to gift a loved one the best holi mithai this year? This year, we have also introduced our Shakkar Para- a sweet treat that is commonly made during this festival. Made with flour, fried and coated in sugar, it is the right amount of crunchy, sweet and irresistible!

And if this wasn’t exciting enough, our Halwai have decided to add even more flavour too your celebrations with our first ever Jain-friendly chivda- Tex Mex Corn Chivda! A classic corn chivda is always present in one of the many bowls set out on the table when gets come to visit our homes. Adding a little zing, a Mexican flair if you will, we’ve given the humble classic a little makeover! Loaded with cashew nuts, curry leaves and zingy spice, your new favourite namkeen has arrived.
