While school kids are thrilled to welcome their winter break, grown ups start gearing up for all the celebrations that the holiday season brings. The city starts to feel awfully whimsical with that nip in the air, the brightly lit streets, the caroling and the festive spirit that envelopes every little lane in Bombay.
Christmas sweets have been such an integral part of Christmas festivities. Every community that celebrates Christmas has such a unique gamut of sweets prepared during this time in various parts of the country. From neighbourhood bakeries to friend’s homes, these festive sweets give you the opportunity to explore lesser known treats that have been around for as long as we can remember.
Every community celebrates Christmas a little differently. The East Indian community in Bombay brings in Christmas with Fruit Cake, Kul Kuls, Neurie, Date Rolls and more. While the Christian community in Goa set up a sweet spread of treats like Guava cheese, Marzipan, Walnut fudge. In Kerala, homes are decked with soft Neyappam, Rose Cookies and fudgy Halwa.

Inspired by the old school coconut candy, our recipe for this traditional confection has been borrowed from our sous chef’s grandma. We put a zingy spin on it with lemon zest and adorned it with tinsel in the form of silver jain friendly warq. Lastly, we have a Spiced Caramel Bon Bon made with chocolate truffle filled with a spiced chocolate caramel, wrapped with lal peda and sprayed with chocolate dust. These three Christmas sweets are available as our Christmas Treats Box 9 or 18 dressed in our wonderful festive Christmas sleeves. This year for Christmas, we are launching a new cookie too as a part of our Indian cookie range! Inspired by our favourite buttery chocolate chip cookie is our Chocolate Butter Cookie.
